Michael Wilk passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio – Ebeid Center. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Stanley and Angus Wilk on February 22, 1939. He moved to Toledo in 1958, where he met the love of his life, Jane Lilje, while taking ballroom dancing lessons at Eddie Hanf studios. They were married in 1960.
Mike retired from Owens-Illinois in 1997, after 34 years of service. Most of his career was in the Plastic Products Division. He traveled extensively for the company, both statewide and worldwide; to France, England, South Africa, and Australia.
Following retirement, Mike and Jane traveled in their motor home and spent winters in Florida, Texas, or Arizona; and every summer they spent several weeks in Indian River, Michigan. They both enjoyed golfing and often stopped on the way home to try out a new course.
Mike was a long-time deer hunter. He rarely missed opening day in northern lower Michigan. He also enjoyed snowmobiling up north.
